Glenn Miller Cafe

So, last night my dad and I went out to the Glenn Miller Café. I've actually known about it and intended to go for a long time, but never quite made it. Part of the problem is that you have to make reservations, and it's always full.
The café itself is full of character. It's this small, narrow room back off of a little street in downtown Stockholm, and the walls are covered with old jazz photos and intstruments. There is a tiny bar (seats approx. 3) and about 5 tables, 4 of which are crammed up against walls. The food is good, but what really draws people is the entertainment; they have live jazz music there every night starting at 8:30.
Since the place is so small, the band takes up about 1/4 of the restaurant. They are literally playing right next to you. One of the sax players was using our table to set his drink on. And they are good at what they do. Last night they had a bass, a guitar, a drum set, and 2 saxes. Some were regulars, but one of the sax players had just flown in from Barcelona for the evening.
It was a great time. We stayed through two sets, and then my dad's jet lag caught up with him, so we had to head home. The music was excellent, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very chill. (Hence the blurry photos--I had to be "cool" like everyone else, and obvious photo-taking is not a good way to fit in.) My only complaint was that they didn't have a dance floor. ;)
